Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Epic Report Writer to design, develop, and maintain reports within the Epic Systems ecosystem. This role is critical in enabling data-driven decisions by delivering accurate, timely, and meaningful insights to clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Epic reporting tools, healthcare data structures, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain reports using Epic reporting tools such as:

Reporting Workbench (RWB)

Clarity

Caboodle

Radar Dashboards

Develop complex SQL queries to extract and analyze data from Epic databases

Collaborate with clinical, operational, and business teams to gather reporting requirements

Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with healthcare regulations

Optimize report performance and troubleshoot data issues

Create dashboards and visualizations for actionable insights

Maintain documentation for reports, data definitions, and processes

Support data validation, testing, and user acceptance processes

Participate in upgrades, enhancements, and system optimization initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

3+ years of experience working with Epic reporting tools

Strong hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases

Solid understanding of Epic data models (Clarity/Caboodle)

Experience with Reporting Workbench and dashboard development

Knowledge of healthcare workflows (clinical, revenue cycle, or operations)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

Epic certification(s) (Clarity, Caboodle, or Reporting Workbench)

Experience with BI tools such as:

Tableau

Microsoft Power BI

Familiarity with data warehousing concepts

Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA)

Experience in performance tuning and large dataset handling
