About Bageltopia

Bageltopia is a Berkeley bagel shop known for our NY-Times acclaimed bagels, vegan options, and innovative sandwiches. We're looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to be integral part of our team as we grow our business and expand our brand.

Role Overview

  • The Part-Time Marketing Manager will serve as the primary marketing leader for Bageltopia's strategy and day-to-day marketing efforts.
  • The Marketing Manager will be responsible for marketing campaigns involving social media, organic traffic (SEO), digital advertising (in future) and community engagement.
  • An important focus of this role will be developing and leading marketing campaigns to grow three priority customer segments: vegan community, catering clients, and weekday customers.
  • This is an ideal role for an experienced, creative marketing professional with a passion for food and restaurants.

Key Responsibilities

Growth Campaign Development

  • Develop and guide targeted marketing campaigns to grow in our target market segments: vegan community, weekday clients & catering
  • Develop strategy to grow vegan business and awareness in the vegan community
  • Identify and develop local catering event opportunities, lead catering business development and manage catering accounts

Social Media & Content Strategy

  • Create strategies to increase relevant followers to our social media accounts
  • Guide the efforts of our social media specialist
  • Guide the creation of engaging photo, video, and short-form content (Reels, Stories, TikToks) and develop content calendars

Search Engine Optimization

  • Build strategy for organic traffic growth and report on performance
  • Manage listings and postings, create blogs and promote monthly specials
  • Work with our web design agency to update our website (manager will also have be able to make web updates on the web platform)

Digital Advertising (in future)

  • Plan and manage paid advertising campaigns with Google, Meta (Instagram/Facebook), and geo-location based targeted advertising
  • Monitor ad performance, optimize campaigns, and report on key metrics

Reporting & Performance

  • Track and report on campaign performance across all channels
  • Bring proactive ideas and a data-informed point of view to marketing decisions

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years of marketing experience in a restaurant, food & beverage, or hospitality environment
  • Experience leading successful marketing campaigns during brand growth and expansion
  • Experience managing or overseeing social media efforts (Instagram, TikTok), digital advertising and community outreach
  • Strong written communication and local storytelling ability
  • Comfortable leading direct outreach — building relationships with businesses, partners, and community contacts
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and effective at 16 hours/week

Nice to Have

  • Background in catering marketing or B2B local outreach
  • Experience with Toast POS
