Responsibilities

A General Purpose Of The Job: Works with Journeyman and others in the installation and maintenance of plant equipment and other work as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

• Operates and observes the operation of conveying equipment, coal breakers, and recipocating loaders
• Assists with the and unloading of coal in the coal handling system
• Reads weightometer
• Keeps area around conveyors clean as assigned. Competency: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies :

Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions ; Uses equipment and materials properly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or proof of equivalent GED.
• Prior experience with hand tools and small power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, or greater.
• Must Pass a physical exam, upon request.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision and Depth perception.
• Typically uses hand tools such as brooms, shovels, hand carts, maintenance tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, jack hammers, etc.
• Operates forklifts and pickup trucks.
• If working outside the Plant worker may stand or walk up to 80% of the day.
• If assigned inside the Plant may walk 50% of day.
• Surfaces are variable, uneven ground, paved, grating, concrete or mud.
