Primary duties for this position include:
Submit prior authorizations in the Medical Clinic for medications, radiology studies, cardiology testing, specialty drugs, implantable devices, other tests as needed and specialty referrals using various appropriate methods including but not limited to websites, telephone, fax and portals.
Collaborate with ordering providers to gather necessary information.
Manage daily tracking for all prior authorizations.
Follow up and submit additional information as needed in a timely manner.
Set up phone calls or peer to peer meetings if needed and approved by provider.
Document all related information in medical record.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Ongoing compliance with MCHC educational and training requirements.
Adheres to the MCHC mission, vision, values, and Standards of Behavior.
Maintains patient and hospital confidentiality.
Promotes and maintains positive relationships with patients, visitors, coworkers, and providers.
Actively participates in department huddles, in-services, meetings, and educational opportunities.
Follows all departmental policies and procedures and adheres to departmental budget.
Clinical or Medical billing/coding background (RN, LPN, CMA or other experienced clinical roles).
BLS – required for RN, LPN, and CMA
Mandatory Reporting Certified or within 90 days of hire.
Overall attention to detail, organizational ability, and ability to prioritize.
The ability to work in teams and communicate accurately and clearly.
Computer experience using Microsoft Office 2007 Excel, Word and Outlook.
Proficient in English in order to communicate with patients, families, and other caregivers.
Experience in heathcare setting.
